Occupy Philly
Chris pointed out that GPOP has not had a visible presence at Occupy Philly, although Green Party members have attended daily. Chris suggested that Greens who visit Occupy Philly wear Green Party shirts, carry Green Party signs, and hand out Green Party literature. We have a new flyer, which will be distributed via email to interested members.

Richard suggested that the Green Party purchase a heater for the occupiers, because the weather is getting cold.

Pablo suggested that GPOP hold a General Membership meeting at Occupy Philly as a way to increase our presence.

Peter suggested that we have a more organized presence through a Green Party tent or table. Chris raised the concern that so much of our time is currently devoted to Cheri’s Campaign (see above), but that will end on November 8. Chris, Hillary, Peter and Richard were the only members present who volunteered to staff a tent or table. If any additional members are interested, they should contact 215-243-7103 and

Voters Choice Act, SB21

The Green Party is participating in lobbying for SB21 in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Ballot Access Coalition, This bill with change the definition of a Party so that Greens, Libertarians, etc., will not have such burdensome requirements for ballot access.
Alex explained that this is a fantastic issue for Greens because the voters agree with us, and the politicians are opposed to what the voters want. Specifically, GPOP is trying to convince all six PA Senators from Philadelphia to endorse SB21.
Alex has been in touch with Senator Anthony Williams, Belinda has been in touch with Senator LeAnna Washington, and Hugh Giordano has been in touch with Senator Vincent Hughes. Any Green Party member who would like a sample email to send to their Senator should contact Chris at
Bernadette, a Green from Chester County, offered to contact Senator John Rafferty, Esther offered to contact Senator Lawrence Farnese, and Christina and Dave will contact Senator Hughes.

Peter was impressed with the presentation made by Pennsylvania Independents at GREEN NIGHT OUT on October 1, They spoke about supporting SB21 in coalition with third parties.
