To Anthony “Ant” Smith and family and the members of the Philly REAL Justice Coalition,

We the Green Party of Philadelphia wish to express our support and warmest solidarity with all of you at this time.

Like many others in this city, we condemn in the strongest possible terms your arrest and we can’t help but be very suspicious of the timing, given everything going on in this city and across the nation.  We see your arrest as a direct attack on our progressive movement, thus, “an attack on one is an attack on us all!”

Many of us have seen you at various actions, i.e., rallies against police brutality, ABOLISH ICE, Free Mumia, no police in schools, etc.  We also know you as a very caring and compassionate teacher, the kind that brings social justice ideas to the social science studies of your students.  Thus, we have great admiration for your work as you provide the courageous young leadership our movement needs.
