Report #18, October 20, 2016

Keep up the good work, Green Party Representative!
I know that you have all been working hard on the Jill Stein/Ajamu Baraka Campaign for President/Vice President. Your work will be the key to success in our low-budget struggle for publicity. Five Green Party Representatives demonstrated outside the Corporate Parties’ Presidential Debate at Hofstra University on September 26.
I am glad that so many of you have helped with flyering door-to-door and with leafleting at public events. We have already used 2,600 flyers to cover 13 polling divisions, and our future literature drops are listed below. Please consider helping other Representatives distribute Jill Stein literature in their neighborhoods. This report will bring you up to date on what has happened since Report #17 which you received on September 6.

Task: Recruit Green Party Candidates
The Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) is creating a Green Wave Committee to recruit candidates for future elections. Since we already have a year’s experience in this area, it would be good to have a Green Party Representative participate on the Green Wave Committee. Please let me know if you would like to be our delegate, and I will introduce you to the Green Wave co-chairs.

Task: Organize Campaign Workers
Since my last report, the Election Operations Working (EOW) Group has lost several Representatives, but three others have joined us as new Representatives: Kassie (Haddington), Cheri (Fairhill), and Robert (Kingsessing). Thank you all for your interest in the Green Party and in our candidates Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka. We now have 24 Green Party Representatives.
On coming weekends there will be more literature drops scheduled to publicize the Stein/Baraka Campaign:

Task: Build an Infrastructure to Win Elections
I am sorry to tell you that the GPOP Outreach Working Group has fallen into disarray. Some members of that short-lived organization have been working on publicity for the Stein/Baraka Campaign through Immediate Action for Jill Stein. Perhaps, following the General Election, some of those Green Party Representatives will devote their energy to reviving our Outreach Working Group.
Thank you so much for all you have done as a Green Party Representative.
It is Good to be Green,
Chris Robinson, 215-843-4256
Membership Secretary
Green Party of Philadelphia

PS: Members of the GPOP EOW Group are called “Green Party Representatives.” According to a motion approved by the GPOP membership on September 30, 2015, the EOW Group has three tasks: “recruiting Green Party candidates who will campaign for office; organizing people to work on those campaigns; and building an infrastructure that will be able to win electoral campaigns.”
