Green Party Nomination Papers Available Soon

Dear Green Party Representative.
The nomination papers for Green Party candidates should be available next week. As you will see below, I plan to bring them back from the GPPA Conference on Sunday.
In this Report, I will try to bring you – and the other 19 Green Party Representatives — up to date on the many developments since Report #2 “Two Candidates (and more) in 2018,” which I posted to your Inbox on Valentine Day.

Task: Organize Campaign Workers
Please welcome Bob Kilalian, our most recent Green Party Representative. At the present, we have ten Green Party Representatives who have volunteered to collect voter’s signatures during the Primary Election: Bob (Queen Village); Belinda (Chestnut Hill); Bernadette, Margie and Beverly (Roxborough); Hillary (Cedar Park); Christian (Wynnefield); Charles (Oxford Circle East); Chris (Germantown); and Eric (undetermined).
There are also three Green Party Representatives who cannot volunteer on 5/15, but who have offered to collect nomination signatures at other times: Georgie, Natasha and Olivia. If your name is not listed above, please let me know whether or not you plan to collect nomination signatures for our candidates.
I plan to pick up the authorized nomination papers at the GPPA Convention, and I will deliver them to you shortly. The best time to collect signatures will be at your own polling place during the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 15.
Please let me know if any of your friends will help us to get Green Party candidates on the ballot.

Task: Recruit Green Party Candidates
Possible Green Party candidates for elected office will present their credentials to the Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) Convention in Scranton on Sunday, March 18. I hope that you will be there for the endorsement debate. If you would like to carpool, please let me know.
Hopefully, one of the PA state-wide candidates endorsed by the Green Party will build a campaign in Philadelphia. We remain ready to assist them.
We are still searching for people from Philadelphia to run as Green Party candidates for PA State Representative. It is one of our tasks to convince good activists to run for office as Green Party candidates seeking a basic universal income, single-payer healthcare, reparations for slavery, and an end to fracking and mass incarceration.
Please send me the contact information for prospective Green Party candidates, and I will help you to convince them to run.

Task: Build an Infrastructure to Win Elections
The GPOP February Membership Meeting has elected our 2018 City Committee (think “steering committee”). All the members of our City Committee are also GPOP Representatives.
The GPOP membership created three Working Groups to assist you in building the Green Party. In addition to the EOW Group which was initiated in September 2015, our membership created an Outreach Working Group in July 2016, and a Communications Working Group in September 2017. Please consider joining one of these groups because they all need volunteers. Interested? If so, I will gladly send you the proper contact information.

Please let me know what you have been doing to build the Green Party.

It is Good to be Green,
Chris Robinson, 215-843-4256
Member, Green Party of Philadelphia

PS: Members of the GPOP EOW Group are called “Green Party Representatives.” According to a motion approved by the GPOP membership on September 30, 2015, the EOW Group has three tasks: “recruiting Green Party candidates who will campaign for office; organizing people to work on those campaigns; and building an infrastructure that will be able to win electoral campaigns.”
