Report #17, September 6, 2016
Let’s get started, Green Party Representative!
I hope you had a good vacation, with lots of fun over the long, Labor Day weekend. Now it is time to get busy!
Your role in the Jill Stein/Ajamu Baraka Campaign for President/Vice President will be critical. Jill will need you at the polls on Tuesday, November 8. Before that, however, we need to prepare your neighbors by letting them know what Jill Stein stands for. Namely, we want to put a Jill Stein flyer in each-and-every door in your voting division. Hopefully, this will help to generate votes for Jill from those who had not known there is a Green Party alternative to the “lesser evil” candidates.
Generating votes for Jill Stein was the reason for my email to you last week, “Pick a day, any day.” I wanted you to have a chance to choose a Saturday or Sunday that was convenient for you. If I do not hear from you, I will simply assign a day for literature distribution starting from your home. Please look for this list of assignments soon.
Our first four literature drops are listed below. I hope that you will also volunteer to help the other Representatives distribute Jill Stein literature in their neighborhoods.
This report will bring you up to date on what has happened since Report #16, which you received on August 3.
Task: Organize Campaign Workers
Since my last report, the following new Green Party Representatives have joined our campaign: Scott (University City), William (Mount Airy), Kentu (Germantown), and Brianna and John (Chestnut Hill). Thank you all for your interest in the Green Party and in our candidate Jill Stein. We now have 31 Green Party Representatives.
This weekend there are four literature drops scheduled to publicize the Stein/Baraka Campaign:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
1:00 pm, Meet outside Charles’ house, 1434 Elbridge Street in Oxford Circle East to cover Ward 54, 5.
1:00 pm, Meet outside Bernadette Marie’s apartment building, Henry on the Park, Building G, 7901 Henry Avenue, in Roxborough, to cover Ward 21, 3.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
1:00 pm, Meet outside Joan’s house, 411 East High Street in Germantown, to cover Ward 59, 8.
3:00 pm, Meet outside Kentu’s apartment building, 123 West Tulpehocken Street in Germantown, to cover Ward 59, 22.
Task: Build an Infrastructure to Win Elections
We definitely need more Green Party Representatives volunteering on the Outreach Working Group. If you would like to become a member of the new Outreach Working Group, its next meeting will take place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 13. Please contact me for the location.
Task: Recruit Green Party Candidates
I am sure that you have been horrified during the last month at the bad publicity swirling around the Philadelphia District Attorney. We are still searching for an honest lawyer who would like to campaign as a Green Party candidate for District Attorney during 2017. Please let me know of any prospective candidates you may know, or give them my contact information.
Thank you so much for all you have done as a Green Party Representative.
It is Good to be Green,
Chris Robinson, 215-843-4256
Green Party of Philadelphia
PS: Members of the GPOP EOW Group are called “Green Party Representatives.” According to a motion approved by the GPOP membership on September 30, 2015, the EOW Group has three tasks: “recruiting Green Party candidates who will campaign for office; organizing people to work on those campaigns; and building an infrastructure that will be able to win electoral campaigns.”
