Green Party of Philadelphia (GPOP) Quarterly Report to the Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA),
January 29, 2016

The Green Party of Philadelphia (GPOP) has been less active since the last Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) Delegate Meeting on November 21, 2015, in Harrisburg, PA. This is part of our, regular post-election breather. During the last quarter, we have worked to find candidates for election in 2016 and to build a network of Green Party Representatives, our volunteers at the polls for future elections.

November 2015 (continued)
November 15, GPOP posted a Quarterly Report to GPPA covering the growth of the local Green Party since September 19, 2015.
November 16, GPOP City Committee Member Chris Robinson posted GPOP Electoral Operations Working (EOW) Group Report #3, “Municipal Election Summary Part 1,” to GPOP members. This report covered the comments submitted by poll workers who volunteered for Kristin Combs campaign for Philadelphia City Council.
November 25, the monthly GPOP General Membership Meeting was postponed because the date conflicted with Thanksgiving.

December 2015
December 2, the postponed GPOP Membership Meeting was held at Liberty Choice Market in Kensington. Quorum was not achieved at this last-scheduled meeting of 2015.
December 4, GPOP City Committee Member Chris Robinson posted “Municipal Election Summary Part 2, Volunteers Necessary for Electoral Success”, traced the importance of volunteers to Green Party growth from 2007 through 2015. It was written to assist GPOP Representatives in recruiting volunteers at the polls during 2016.
December 13, GPOP posted the Pennsylvania State Election Calendar to its members.
December 14, GPOP City Committee Member Chris Robinson posted “Green Party Post-Election Progress,” GPOP EOW Group Report #4, to GPOP members. This report covered our three-part plan for post-election progress in building the Green Party.

January 2016
January 14, GPOP Treasurer Hillary Kane posted a call for nominations to GPOP members. This call explained the GPOP election process for public office and for the GPOP City Committee (local leadership).
January 17, GPOP City Committee Member Chris Robinson posted “Planning the 2016 Campaign,” GPOP Electoral Operations Working (EOW) Group Report #5, to Green Party Representatives.
January 27, the GPOP General Membership Meeting was held at Calvary Community Center in Cedar Park, West Philadelphia. This was GPOP’s annual nominations meeting. Ten members attended, and they nominated seven people to fill the seven offices on the GPOP City Committee. Nominations will remain open until the GPOP Election Meeting on February 24. January 29, GPOP posted a Quarterly Report to GPPA, covering the growth of the local Green Party since November 21, 2015.

Movement Connections
GPOP Membership Secretary Eric Hamell has been trained as a patient escort for Planned Parenthood. He volunteers for four hours each month.
November 18, three GPOP Members attended a meeting of the Philadelphia Area Anti-Drone Network (PAADN) at the Friends Center.
November 28, two Philadelphia Greens attended the “End Drone War and Terror” vigil against the new Drone War Command Center in Horsham, PA.
December 16, two GPOP Members attended a meeting of the Philadelphia Area Anti-Drone Network (PAADN) at the Friends Center.
December 17, GPOP Membership Secretary Eric Hamell attended a rally on International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers in Love Park, Philadelphia.
December 26, three Philadelphia Greens attended the “Ignite Peace” vigil against the new Drone War Command Center in Horsham, PA.
In Late December, GPOP Chair Glenn Davis attended the evidentiary hearing on unconstitutional treatment of Mumia Abu Jamal at the U.S. District Court in Scranton, PA.
