The Green Party of Philadelphia is both a political party and an activist organization which strives to make our city a more just and sustainable community. All are welcome to become members or to attend our upcoming events and meetings. Our general meetings are now on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except December) at 6:30pm at 4134 Lancaster Ave Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Unlike the two major political parties, the Green Party does not accept contributions from corporations, so we always need new sources of funds for campaigns (both electoral and issue-oriented, such as our SEPTA campaign), literature printing, and other party activities. Please contribute today ! Don't forget to renew your commitment to GPOP by sending in your voluntary annual membership contribution of $25.00. TICKETS FOR GREEN GALA, SAT, DEC 6, 2008

Don't miss the Green Gala on Sat, 12/06/08, 7:00-10:00 pm, Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1901 S. Rittenhouse Sq. Have fun and help the Green Party of Philadelphia (GPOP) raise money for next year's local campaigns. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Local artist Tha Truth, will also perform. Tha Truth is a political/alternative rapper and activist known around the Philadelphia area for advocating for an end to imperialism, poverty, corruption, and discrimination. He is a proud member of the Green Party of Camden County.

Green Party Hails SEPTA Expansion

PHILADELPHIA - The Green Party of Philadelphia hailed SEPTA's recent announcement of expanded bus and rail service. (http://www.timesherald.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=20089291&BRD=1672&PAG=461&dept_id=33380&rfi=6) "This is a great day for Philadelphians," said Hillary Aisenstein, of the Green Party's Transportation Working Group (http://www.gpop.org/transit). "More buses and trains will mean more mobility for greater numbers of city residents, workers, and students. And just as importantly, it will also mean fewer cars on the road," said Aisenstein, who is also the group's treasurer.
