The Green Party's Annual National Meeting to be held in Reading this summer
The Green Party's Annual National Meeting will
be held at the Abraham Lincoln, a historic Wyndham Hotel and Conference
Center, at 100
N 5th St in downtown Reading, July 12-15, 2007. The meeting will bring
an estimated 300 + people
from all over the country and world to Reading, from as far away as
Nepal to as close as your next-door neighbor. Its primary focus is the
three day GPUS business meetings of all the Green National delegates,
as well as music and informative entertainment that will focus on the
four pillars of the Green Party: social justice, nonviolence,
grassroots democracy, and ecology. Green candidates seeking various
offices, including President in 2008, will be highlighted as well.
Many Greens from Philadelphia are expected to attend. Visit the official website of the Annual National Meeting at www.gpanc.org. On that site you can:
- register for the meeting - complete a survey about your food, lodging, and workshop preferences - learn more details
Also, workshop proposals are being solicited. Proposals are due by April 30 to Ruth Weil, Annual National Meeting Committee Co-Chair at moondog@execpc.com. Please email her for instructions on proposal submission.
There are also a limited number of scholarships available for participants with limited means who are representing traditionally disenfranchised communities. Please email the Diversity Committee for more information about the Scholarship application process: divcomscholarship@yahoogroups.com.
