Members of the Green Party will have the opportunity to nominate candidates to GPOP's City Committee on January 22, 2007.  Nominations will be accepted for all City Committee positions: Chair, Recording Secretary, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, and three At-Large positions.  Elections for all positions will be held the following month at the February General Meeting.  Each member serves for a one year term. 

Also at February's General Meeting, which will be held Febraruy 26, 2007, votes will be cast for any nominees for public office for the 2007 Municipal General Election.  These offices include Mayor, all City Council seats, and City Commissioner.  Only registered Greens are eligible to vote for City Committee members as well as for candidates for public office.

Thus far, Lewis Harris, Jr. is the only person to put forth his name as a Green Candidate for City Commissioner. 

All General Meetings take place on the 4th Monday of the month, at 6:30 PM at the Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 S. Rittenhouse Square.   Details on all events and meetings are available on the Calendar (see link to the left or www.gpop.org//calendar)
