The Green Party of Philadelphia is both a political party and an activist organization which strives to make our city a more just and sustainable community. All are welcome to become members or to attend our upcoming events and meetings. Our general meetings are now on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except December) at 6:30pm at 4134 Lancaster Ave Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Unlike the two major political parties, the Green Party does not accept contributions from corporations, so we always need new sources of funds for campaigns (both electoral and issue-oriented, such as our SEPTA campaign), literature printing, and other party activities. Please contribute today ! Don't forget to renew your commitment to GPOP by sending in your voluntary annual membership contribution of $25.00. Green Party Presidential Caucus

Join Philadelphia area Greens while we cast our votes for a national presidential candidate. Registered Greens from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties are encouraged to participate. Refreshments will be served. A brief General Membership Meeting will follow the caucus.

We will use instant runoff voting (irv), tallied at the state level, to bind our delegates to the national Presidential Nominating Convention to be held in July. The candidates include:

Cynthia McKinney (CA)

Kent Mesplay (CA)

Kat Swift (TX)

One can also write-in another choice or vote for "no candidate".

Democracy Unplugged presents: Presidential Alternatives Forum

Two days after two, extremely well financed, high profile candidates face off at the Constitution Center, a selection of candidates with sparser budgets and less exposure, yet with dedicated supporters and vital issues, will speak at the second Democracy Unplugged 2008 Presidential Forum at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue, Swarthmore, PA. The forum will be held at 7:30 pm Friday, April 18th. The format will consist of short opening statements followed by some time when anyone may ask questions. Refreshments will be available and donations will be accepted.
